Banff Baby

The road trip with mom + baby continues through Banff, Lake Louise + on to the Canadian Prairies!!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We decided to stay one more night in the beautiful mountain town of Canmore to take advantage of the close proximity of what the Canadian Rockies has to offer!!!

Okay, big tip about Lake Louise.  Either get there around 9am or earlier to avoid the horrendous traffic jam + potential accident prone parking lot.  If you miss that window,  bypass all that junk + just pay for parking at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I’m telling you it saves you from a lot of mental anguish!!!  Here’s mom + baby in front of the Fairmont.

When we arrived at Lake Louise my mom busted out her iPad to take pictures like she was a gunslinger at a shootout.  She looked like the biggest tourist.

Haha.  Warning: don’t take pictures with that thing when it’s really windy out.  It’s like a mini sail.

Did I not mention that Lake Louise is a zoo???  It seems so serene but hell naw it’s chock full of tourists.  Like I said before – go early.

Langdon!!!  Your middle name Takehiko, (Mountain Prince) was inspired by all this splendor!!!  Read more about Langdon’s very long name here!  Langdon is like, “Heh, heh.”.

I was so stoked to hold my baby in front of Lake Louise!  We had arrived!!!

Mom dipped her hand in the chilly glacial waters.

Aaaaaah.  Otherworldly.

After walking around Lake Louise, the three of us had lunch at the Fairmont.  This is when Langdon woke from a nap, screamed bloody murder + had to be soothed.  Then after lunch he was given a bottle, then he pooped all over himself + his cute little outfit + then his mom cursed + swore under her breath.  And no, I don’t have any pictures of any of that drama.

After Lake Louise we mosied into the town of Banff.  Banff is mad touristy as well + full of places to spend money.  “HAH!” says Langdon.

Since Langdon is half Canuck, I had to take a picture of him with Hudson’s Bay Blankets in the background.  He was neither excited nor enthused.  Especially with hair clips on his stroller.

We were all pooped like no tomorrow that night when we returned for slumber in Canmore.  But the show must go on, folks!  In the morning on to our final destination!!!  Black Diamond!!!

As we got closer, miles + miles of green, green grass unfolded before us.

We stopped off the side of the road to feed the mongrel.

Here he is delighting himself with his reflection in the mirror while grandma burps him.

The country abode that we are subleasing for the summer.  This picture is not well centered.  Sorry.  I was dizzy from living life on the road, what can I say.

Mom + Langdon settling in.  Does it look like we’ll be living in a log cabin?  Well, we kind of do.  Welcome to the country.

Meanwhile, mister guy has turned 3 months old!!!  Here he is in his summer Yukata that mom bought for him in Japan!

Right after that photo we changed him into this “bro” look.  He looks like Grandpa Kenny in his tank top!!!  Whatta belly – he was all kinds of flipping out with glee when we were taking this picture!  A hot mess!  A cute little hot mess!

Folks, after three long days, we finally ended up in our new home for the next 3 months!!!  Thanks for hanging out with us on our journey!!!  More Alberta shenanigans to come!!!
