Our New Summer Home

Yo-de-lay-hee-hooooo!!!  I don’t know why I just felt like yodeling, but I did.  Some things just can’t be explained.  Anyhoooo, Tuesday we moved into our new home for the remainder of the summer in Calgary (CowTown).

Technically, I, moved us into our new home.  Moi, yours truly, me.  That morning in Chinatown, Jeff did help me bring down the heaviest of bags before I took him to work.

Hey, sherpa!!!  Look alive!!!  I was about to unlock the trunk, but I just HAD to capture this moment.

Oh, it’s just too sad!!!  I was enjoying myself, laughing away + I could barely hear Jeff’s tiny voice utter, “Shelli, please open the trunk.”.  Poor, abused Jeff – I think I was passive-aggressively paying him back for all the moving I had ahead of me.

This next picture sums up how I feel we’ve been living our lives during our relationship:

Uuuuugh, despair.  Or, I liken Jeff to Sisyphus, the myth of the Greek king who was punished eternally by rolling an immense boulder up a hill, only to watch it roll back down, and to repeat this action forever + ever + ever + ever.

Eternally moving all his belongings from place to place….forever.  I can’t WAIT for us to get our own place in Vancouver.  Our own home base where all these material possessions will reside + stay put.

Our new summer home is a sweet house built during the 1910s.  We live on the second story + I love it’s coziness + warmth.  Still life in kitchen.

Our cute, little gas stove.

The washer needs to be hooked up to the faucet.  Have you ever encountered this?!  I never have!!!  I was so freaked out, thinking I was doing it all wrong, anticipating to be standing in a pool of water!  The first time I used it, I physically stood in front of the washer watching + monitoring it, during what felt like the entire cycle.

A tranquil, white bedroom.

While I get to enjoy playing house, Jeff gets to enjoy this muddy mess on “Hell on Wheels”:

I much prefer clean, white, sweet-smelling linens, thankyouverymuch.  When did I turn into a Victorian woman?!

Oh, I do say!!!!

      • I was ready months ago! And I only got more excited a couple of weeks ago when I found out that Ryan Robbins is going to be in this season too. I can’t WAIT for all the new episodes. I met Christopher Heyerdahl at Comic Expo but he didn’t tell me anything interesting, so I’ve been trolling the internet for any info I can find. Fangirling doesn’t pay very well, but it’s sure a lot of fun. 🙂

      • You got into the Comic Expo??? I heard it was mad hysteria with people getting turned away!

      • I’m organized and determined! lol Also, I’m a bit OCD about being early for things, so I was fine, thankfully! It was an epic weekend. I’m still in the middle of blogging about Sunday. Next year, when you’re here for season 3 of HoW, you should try to make it. 🙂
