Officially in Our New House!!!!

Woo-hooooo!!!! Hoooooo!!!!!! I’m so excited I had to add some more hoooooo! Jeff + I have finally moved into a place of our own! It only took a year of marriage to accomplish!
No more packing + unpacking! A place to decorate, paint, have raging keg parties in….just kidding. This is a nesting house. For settling into!
On Monday morning we ran a bunch of errands + headed over to our new house. I love saying that. Our new house. Of course, Jeff started off examining the outside + looking for things that could become potential problems in the future that will need work. He’s a trouble shooter like that.
This house is going to need some extra luuuuuuv. And we are the two peeps to give it some snuggly affection. We’re going to get all DIY on this mother.
Unpacking the cars was no fun. When is it ever? But we were pretty worn from the drive yesterday that it was a bit of a struggle.
After the unloading was finished we drove over to our FAVORITE Vietnamese banh mi (sandwich) spot, Tung Hing Bakery to pick up some lunch because otherwise I would’ve ripped Jeff’s arm off + eaten it. Guess what, folks? It’s only a six minute drive away!!!!!! HELL YEAH!!!!!
Our first meal in our house! I love our neighborhood! There’s a myriad of Vietnamese + Chinese restaurants + bakeries that I can’t wait to try out! Nummy nums.
I thought now that we were finally in Vancouver, that Jeff might chill out a little bit. Especially considering he was starting a new job the next day. Nope!!!!
“Why don’t you relax! We’re here now! We have the weekends to do this stuff! Why today?!” I pleaded. Falling on deaf ears.
But what made me really sad was that he made me participate. That means no relaxing for Shelli.
Grrrrrrrr. A man posessed. I think Jeff is on auto pilot from being in Alberta working during the week + cleaning up the shipping container + storage garage every weekend. The poor man needs to sleep + take a valium or something.
Our first portrait in front of our first house. I actually really wanted to kill Jeff at the time of the photo, but I didn’t want to miss out on this memorable moment. Hopefully I’ll look at this picture one day + laugh at how constipated with irritation I look.
We headed over to Tom + Deb’s house for a going away dinner for our good friends Steve + Liz as they embark on their move to Southern California. Isn’t life crazy? Just when I come up north, they are headed south!!!! We were greeted by these munchkins when we arrived at the house.
Rabbit ears! Classic move, good one Tobin!
I’m going to miss sweet little angels Hana + Keiko! Hana is such a funny younger sibling! She insisted on taking pictures with Jeff while using her bread as a prop!
What a card!!!!
Tobin took a picture of the “adult” table. Heyoooo!!!!! Thanks, Tobs!!!!
Of course Jeff couldn’t stop working. But at least he did it while wearing a cape.
Nothing like working whilst dressed like a magician.
Deb made a special cake for the Hoiles! An American flag caaaaake!!! How cute is that?! Actually, now that I think of it, I should have sang them, “Star Spangled Banner” since I was the only American representing. Darn it!!!!
I hollered at the kids, “Group picture!!!!”. I don’t know what is happening in this picture, but it’s a whole lotta awesome.
I love those wacky kids. Here’s Liz, Deb + I. Who knows when we’ll take a picture together again!? Cry!!!!
Hello, Vancouver – goodbye to amazing friends!!!! All my love + well wishes to the Hoiles clan on their journey to sunny Southern California!!! We all miss you already!!!! XOXOXOXOXOXO
Hope the first week of Falling Skies went well!!! And I’d like to see a photo of the black ceilings, please… 🙂
Also, tell Jeff I said nice cape! It’s very Darth Vader. 🙂
OH, they’re coming! Just you wait!!!! Nice Star Wars reference!!!!! I can always count on you!
