Work + Play

This family of 3 knows how to WORK! But not without getting in lots of fun here + there!
Another lapse in blog world for me! That’s because I’m dog tired because we work hard + we play hard in this household!!! Plus, Jeff + I have been catching up on Walking Dead on Netflix – but I digress, that is another story for another time.
Well, let me tell you, we started off last weekend partaaaaaaaying!!!!!!! Haaaaaaay!!!! Langdon’s girlfriend Madison turned 1!!!! Her mom Tiffany threw the most righteous bash + went all out! Handmade cookies, tons of food, Alice in Wonderland theme, bone china teacups – the works! Here is Maddie with her cake entirely made from scratch by her loving mum! Look how much she loves it!
Um, can you say unbearably adorable??? Ahem, I made the pattern for her apron (pats herself on the back). Tiffany has basic self-taught sewing skills + she sewed that sucker together, which is not an easy feat. I was beyond impressed.
Langdon was the life of the party! He was stumbling around, spilling things, climbing on furniture + acting like a real frat boy!
My son knows how to rock a good balloon hat.
In the meantime all this family does is clean, organize + clean. Langdon is definitely our son because he is no joke batty for cleaning. Here he is with our new Dyson looking like he is proudly posing next to his brand new Porsche.
Haters gonna hate, but this Dyson is one of the best purchases EVER!!!! It is worth every single penny!!!!!! I am in love with this vacuum. And so is Langdon.
This family even vacuums outside. One of Langdon’s “toys” is the attachment to another vacuum that he scoots around all day long. We technically own 5 vacuums now.
Last Sunday we had family over for a Mexican dinner!
Mira, Langdon’s pequeno chiclets.
We had enchiladas, rice, beans, guacamole, Mexican sodas + Mexican music!!! It was a jolly affair.
More work. Helping dad on the deck. Langdon also loves brooms. Lucky us.
This past week we took Langdon to the aquarium for the first time. One of his favorite books is “Baby Beluga” so we were excited for Langdon to meet his first Beluga whale! Disappointingly, he could have gave a rat’s ass. He was far more obsessed with an open door that led to staircases that he was dying to climb! And he kept crawling all over the dirty carpet dragging his pacifier as he kept making a beeline for said tempting door. Ew.
Well, he did get excited once:
“Holy mother of god + all that is sacred, what is that colossal, white monster!!!???”
We caught a white sided dolphin show.
There were acrobatics, speed swimming, dolphin singing, etc. Strangely Langdon was extremely unenthused, indifferent + had a really snooty, dismissive look on his haughty little chubby face.
“Simpletons”, Langdon huffed.
More work. Langdon likes to help me with folding laundry.
And when he’s upstairs Langdon goes to town with the dust brush. This kid is definitely our spawn because he is over the top + his energy is manic!
I vacuumed + cleaned A LOT when I was pregnant, so maybe Langdon takes comfort in working???
And of course, for fun, we all go thrifting.
Thank god this child has such a good nature + so far is a hard worker. Because in this family there is no rest for the weary! And how! Phew! What a busy couple of weeks it’s been! And thankfully the weather has been GORGEOUS in Vancouver!!! No seasonal affective disorder for this gal! Hope everyone has survived the long winter! XOXO
I LOVE that Langdon is more amused by brooms, laundry, and thrifting than he is by aquariums. He’ll never be bored! At least, not unless he’s stuck in a car on a long ride… 🙂
Haha! That’s my boy! He is a nut.
