Baby’s Arrival in Los Angeles!

La-La-Land we have arrived! A long awaited trip for baby Langdon + I to glorious Southern California!!!
It’s been 2 1/2 years since I’ve returned to my birthplace – Los Angeles!!!! Because I applied for my Canadian permanent residency within Canada (as opposed to applying outside of Canada), it restricted me from crossing the border until everything was finalized. Boooooo!!! The entire process took a really agonizingly long ass time! Well boy howdy, once I got the okay – sayonara rainy Vancouver!!!! Git me on that bird pronto!!!!
Before we left Canada, Lang Lang was acting verrrrry peculiar + making lots of weird, smushy, frowny Satan’s Child facial expressions that I couldn’t figure out.
Luckily the day we flew, Jeff was able to drive us to the airport + see us off. Although it’s only a 2 1/2 hour flight I was nervous flying with Langdon alone, so I was soooooo grateful that Jeff helped us haul all our crap + say goodbye to his son. Dad will come join us later in the month when he has a holiday break from his tv show.
Off we go! Baby so tired from getting up at 5am + being bustled through security, check points, long lines…
Luckily pour moi the little scamper slept through the majority of the flight! We booked seats all the way in the back AND GUESS WHAT?! No one in our row, the row in front of us or next to us!!!! HALLELUIAH!!! Ain’t that somethin’?! Langdon + I got to party hard!!!
See this happy baby??? First flight to Los Angeles – SUCCESS!!!! Wooooot!!!!
Oh you can’t even imagine what a delight it was to see my mom waiting for us at baggage claim!!!! Hello LAX, you fugly-badly-in-need-of-an-update-crazy-airport!!!!! It was pouring!!!! Langdon + I brought the much needed rain to Los Angeles. Little Langdon the Rain Maker. No, we didn’t go to Disneyland straight from the airport. But we did take the bus because people in Los Angeles don’t know how to drive in the rain + the freeways were a mess.
Well folks, Langdon has had a REALLY rough first couple days at grandma + grandpa’s house. He had a super hard time adjusting to his new surroundings + my loud, crazy family. And to put salt on the wound, remember the exorcist face he was making in the first photo? There was an explanation for it. He was teething!!! Oh lord have mercy it was a horrible first week !!! The little man has sprouted two little top teeth! Oh, + now he can pull himself up to stand! Yikes.
Which means lots of reaching for things that can take an eye out, konk him in the head or maim him in some way. So grandma, grandpa, auntie + mom are keeping an eagle eye on this active spazz at all times. It’s exhuasting.
Teething pain seems to have mellowed out + Mr. Man is settling in nicely. He gets so much love + attention that it makes him feel like a superstar!!! I took this picture when we first arrived…
And then I took this photo tonight…
I SWEAR TO GOD I DID NOT STAGE THIS PHOTO!!!! This tiny terror has run my family ragged in a matter of 6 days!!!! Someone carry grandma off to bed cuz she’s done!!!
In general this is how Langdon + I feel about being in Southern California:
Yeah, the Pacific Northwest winter can suck it!!!! The first week in Los Angeles was all about getting in step + finding a rhythm. Now we’re ready to rock it! Get ready for adventures + Golden State fun to come!!! Bye bye!
He is such a cutie! Our boy has just started pulling himself up to standing too – nothing is safe any more and we are exhausted from following him around! The cats are terrified 🙂
It’s awesome, sad that he’s growing up so fast + definitely terrifying!!!! So many emotions for this new phase!!!!
Are you there all xmas? ? Are your folks still in agoura? We’re headed down soon. I’d love to see you guys
Yes we are here for a while!!!! Love to see you too!
wheeewww, Sir Langdon, is AWsuM, so great 2 C him here
in LALA-land, he’s definitely gonna be a handful when he…
…turns Terrible ‘2’,…heehee,…LOL !!!!! but we spoil him so
joyfully it’s unbelievable and so adorable, he’s Great !!!!!
🙂
Yay for finally getting out of Canada!!!!!! That is so exciting. I hope you have a wonderful time visiting home:)
Thanks girl!!!! It took forever, didn’t it?!
Have fun in sunny CA! I will be thinking of you from totally gray and dreary central PA. And good luck with that standing, which means walking isn’t far behind thing. LOL Time to full-on babyproof!
And how!!!!! He’s crawling towards light sockets, pulling things off tables, turning over trash cans…
Hurray sunny California! And hurray for big boy pulling himself up, that’s so great. I know it brings on a new level of exhaustion for you, but imagine how much greater and more wonder his world has become for him. I love the tired grandparents photo with the energizer baby still going:). Miss you guys, have fun in the sun! xo
HURRAY!!!!! Yep, the only one here with energy is the baby!!! Miss you guys too – wish you were all here right now!!!
Awesome so glad your flight went well! Lucky you flew out before the BIG Christmas rush! Pulling himself up you know what that means….Isabelle started pulling herself up at 7 months by the end of 9 months she took her first steps better watch out. Your right nothing is safe even when you think it’s safe! She’s even able to get half way up onto the tub so if i’m not quick enough getting her in for bath time she tries climbing in!! Enjoy LA! Vancouver winter sucks…we may have snow but we still have sun in the winter time! (+10 here!)
OMG that Izzy is a spitfire!!! Aaaaaaah, Alberta!!! Snow + sun!!!!
