A Most Festive Fall Season

Lots of fall activities, growth + learning with Langdon this month! A very complicated month – the good + the horrible…
Earlier in the month, Jeff, Langdon + I drove a half hour south from Vancouver to Ladner to visit Westham Island Herb Farm for first pumpkin patch time! We strolled among the rows of produce + flowers. It was a bitingly cooooold day + I obsessively wrapped Langdon up in blankets. A very serious father son portrait.
I had this romantic image in my head that we were going to take tons of pictures, plop Langdon down in the dirt surrounded by big, fat, rotund pumpkins + we were all going to laugh + sing + dance. But nay…Lang Lang was in a crap crappy mood, it was freaking cold + he was having none of it. I somehow managed to get a smile!
This little mule was sweet + tiny + he was enamored with Langdon. Another smile! Win!!! Do you like Langdon’s beanie? Sorry – if you’re a Canuck I meant to say, do you like Langdon’s toque? I made it out of this slippery bamboo fabric + it fits him like a do rag!!! Biggie Smalls!
Not so sure posing in the Halloween cutout.
There were so many varieties of pumpkins at the farm. I really like these unusual pumpkins that look like they might have diseases.
I was going to choose these pumpkins that looked like engorged tomatoes, but decided against it + got some classy white pumpkins instead, because I’m classy like that.
We also picked up some gorgeous, happy dahlias for Auntie Deb. Langdon wanted them for his own – snatching at them with his chubby, dimpled claws.
That night we went to my brother-in-law + sis-in-law’s for Canadian Thanksgiving dinner! They always host a great feast! Did you know Canadian Thanksgiving is in October?! Weird, right?!?! I’ll NEVER get used to it! NEVER I TELL YOU!!!!! I don’t recall, but according to this photographic evidence, Tom is telling me a funny story to which cousin Neil also enjoys…but I appear shocked/scared/aghast. Why? I wish I could remember! Haha! Langdon is busy looking at my plate thinking, “Num num nummy…me want big people foooood!”!
The week after, we went to the apple festival at UBC’s botanical gardens. Pie! Cider! Pie!
Another touch + go day for Mr. Fussy Pants. But here is a brief moment of enjoyment posing in yet another cutout – Johnny Appleseed!
MORE PUMPKINS!!!! The apple festival was bumpin’! There were tons of people! We will definitely return when Langdon gets older, as there were lots of fun kid activities!
Langdon’s also been busy helping dad out at the hardware store.
Having play dates with his girlfriend Madison. She’s also a little hapa. Isn’t she adorable?! They are so presh together. One minute they’re holding hands, the next minute trying to poke each other’s eyes out. Aaaaah, the perfect relationship.
I carry my buddy on my back when he gets fussy, as I work around the house! Do you like the box of wine next to Langdon’s bottles?! Mommy needs a drink!!!
This may be my all time favorite picture of Langdon.
After that picture was taken Langdon + I caught a cold + he started MAJORLY teething. It’s been a really, really rough month for the both of us. Despondent Langdon.
Truly a hot mess. Ladies who have babies that haven’t started teething yet – ENJOY YOUR BABIES NOW!!!! Once those sharp little razors start ripping their way through your poor baby’s gums, they will become psychopathic strangers + you’ll wonder who took your baby + where they went!!! Langdon was making all sorts of weird, smushy faces, waving his arms around like a windmill, spitting + screaming + saying things like, “PFFFFBBBTT!!!! BBBBLLLLBBB!!!”.
Sleep has been horrible. Lately we’ve been laying down with poor Langdon in our bed to put him to sleep.
Well, today is Halloween!!! I got this monkey costume for the little primate. I found it cute but boring!
So I used the hat, put him in some stripes, Jeff’s red wool shorts with straps, cut off the tail + hand sewed it to the bum! His costume is officially called “Monkey Prince George!”!
Here’s the monkey showing off his little tail.
We went to a mommy-baby partaaaay!!! Here’s Lang Lang with Madison as the sweetest lion ever!
Look.At.All.The.Babies. Langdon is like WTF. But guess what? He won a gift bag prize for his costume!
So many things happened this month. I will be quite honest, I became pretty depressed + cried a whole bunch. I miss my family + friends in Los Angeles, the rainy gloom started again in Vancouver + the teething, sick cranky baby was draining for me when Jeff’s at work 16 hours a day five days a week. But Mr. Langdon now has two little teeth + is much jollier + get ready for it……I BECAME A PERMANENT RESIDENT!!! I CAN NOW LEAVE THE COUNTRY + GO TO LOS ANGELES!!!! Therefore, I’ve been feeling much better the past couple weeks! More on my permanent residency later!!! I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE EVERYONE IN L.A. SOON!!!!! XOXO!!!
