My CBC Radio Interview

This blog got me an interview on CBC radio, y’all!!!
For everyone reading who is not a Canuck, CBC Radio is the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. It is pretty much THE source for news, weather, culture – it is pretty much everything to a Canadian. The CBC is coursing through every Canadian’s blood stream. Here’s a CBC Cowichan sweater that I think Jeff needs to own by Granted Clothing:
CBC has been around since the early 1920’s, people. It is a great defining source of Canadian culture. Check out my tour of Vancouver’s wonderful CBC headquarters by clicking here.
Currently there is a lot of controversy. Stephen Harper’s (boooo!) conservative government is planning on cutting CBC’s funding by $115 million within the next three years. It is said that this is due to the fact that the CBC is seen as having liberal views that tend to slander the current conservative government. That is some crazy censorship BS, Mr. Harper.
Back to my interview! Michelle Eliot has a morning segment about Vancouver commuter topics on Tuesday mornings. She found my blog post: “Driving in Vancouver Sucks”. Michelle got some laughs out of it + contacted me about doing an interview for her show!
Michelle was SO nice! Here I am with awesome new mom hunchback posture getting interviewed while wearing Langdon.
I was so sleep deprived + didn’t really think ahead about what I would say during the interview. It just came out like, “Bluddy, bluddy, blub, blub, heh heh heh.”. Not very eloquent, well spoken or concise. My sis-in-law Deb was there to take care of Langdon in case he was a fussy pants. We all chatted + Michelle also interviewed Deb! She was so succinct, diplomatic + classy!
And then Langdon had a turn at the mic as well!
He said such things as, “Well, Michelle to be completely frank, being a baby is quite a taxing bit of business!”.
Haha, my interview went on air + guess what the topic was? “Tips for Avoiding Road Rage this Summer”. Unfortunately I can’t access the audio link – but here’s the website link. It’s kind of good that I can’t access the audio link, because since I was so tired, I just sounded like a typical Valley Girl. The interview was peppered with a lot of, Omigods, likes + ums. Like, I’m totally fer shurr.
The radio host said something to the effect of me being the type of driver that he hates. Jeff listened to the interview + said, “You sounded really aggressive.”. Hey! That’s because I AM AGGRESSIVE!!! Just ask my family. Yep. I am a ball of anger rolling around the city of Vancouver.
But don’t worry, folks I redeemed myself at the end of the interview stating that because of my new sweet precious cargo (Langdon) I am reassessing my dangerous driving + becoming a more calm + collected driver. But even still – grrrrrrr to you Vancouver drivers!!!! Grrrrr – watch out!
Langdon was so pooped out from his first CBC radio interview!
HAHAHAHA!!!! That’s the weird face that he makes when he’s tired + stretching! Do you like his Canuck onesie that he wore special for the interview?! Adorbz!!! Thanks Michelle for the fun interview experience!!! Thanks CBC!!!!
Oh! Michelle sent me the link for the interview! Here it is in all it’s glory! Click here to listen!
How exciting! Congratulations!
Thanks a bunch!
Awesome sauce!
Thanks, Liz!!! Awesome blossom!
Awwwww no audio link!!! If CBC manage to grace you with one, make sure you post!
They did give me a link, but it’s an mp3 + I can’t figure out how to share it! Durrrr!!!!
Congrats! That’s really exciting how blogs are getting some recognition on Canadian tv.
Thank you! Well, it wasn’t a TV spot – just the radio, but I like how you think! A TV spot will be next!!! Thanks for stopping by!!!
Hilarious!!! Guuuurl everyone thought I would be less aggressive after a kid….lol nope! Love me some Langdon! He is soooooo cute! Cannot wait for you to get here! Maybe a lupe’s visit?
Girrrrrl, you KNOW it!!!! Two birds of a feather! Oh my stars…LUPE’S!!!!! YESSSSSS!!!!! Good Mexican food…how I miss thee. Btw, another winner alias. Keep ’em coming!
Wow sister I’m so proud of you! Us LA drivers got to stick together! Glad you were aggressive during your interview!😊👏
Spoken like a true American! I was just being honest. Jeff was embarrassed by my interview because he’s a mild mannered Canuck. Americans be like, “You GO!!! Ra ra, siss boom bah!!!”. Love it!
Shelli you were awesome in your interview! And you were very well worded, honest and funny in your response to her questions … K heard the interview and said it was really, really good!! And Langdon really is the best little canuck ever (cutest too)!
You think so? Deb you are the #1 cheerleader!! Thanks so much! I thought I sounded like a big nerd. Langdon is the cutest canuck ever!!!!
Haha… this is awesome! I know firsthand how highly you think of Vancouver drivers. 😉
Ain’t that the truth!!!
