Best Hairstyle Ever Pt. 2 + the Bryan Baeumler Experience

Hands down another got-to-see-it-to-believe it hairstyle for Jeff + the time we met HGTV god Bryan Baeumler!

Last weekend Jeff + I were going to spend the evening at the BC Home + Garden Show.  But before that, we went to go get our hair cut at our beloved Japanese salon.  Another amazing experience.  Click here to check out Jeff’s last stupendous Little Lord Fauntleroy styled ‘do.  I didn’t think it could be outdone, but it did.

This is the reference picture I brought for Jeff’s awesome, enthusiastic stylist.Screen Shot 2014-03-01 at 8.45.49 PM

And this is what he walked away with.  Hair:HomeGarden - 01

WHAT.  BTW, that’s snow in his hair, not glitter. I wish..Hair:HomeGarden - 02

OMG.Hair:HomeGarden - 03

HAHAHAHAHAAA!!!  It still makes me cry with laughter!!!  I kept calling him New Wave + told him he looked like Robert Smith from the Cure.Robert Smith the Cure

Don’t worry everyone!!!  The cut itself is super great, it’s just the styling that is super cray cray.  It’s all so worth it!!!  Japanese stylists are the best!

It was snowing like the Dickens in Vancouver last weekend…Hair:HomeGarden - 04

After our haircuts we went to the amazing Crystal Mall food court.  This place is a serious smorgasborg of delicious, cheap Asian (mostly Chinese) cuisine!!!!  Here we have Jeff chowing down on spicy broth with pork belly + rice noodles.Hair:HomeGarden - 05

From this place:Hair:HomeGarden - 06

It is so damn good!!!  And you can choose any type of noodle you want!  I got hearty thick cut flour noodles!  I can’t wait to try more of the vendors!  There’s Northern Chinese, dumplings, Chinese BBQ…yum yum yum!!!!  Don’t worry dad, chill out – I already told Jeff that he’s taking you there to eat when you come to visit!!!

We headed to the BC Home + Garden Show by train.  I told Jeff to look brooding + urban.  He ended up just looking like an emo kid that just got back from a Morrissey show.Hair:HomeGarden - 07

After exiting the train + entering the show, we rushed (as much as a waddling 8 month pregnant person can rush) to the main stage to see Bryan Baeumler + his wife Sarah speak on the main stage.  If you don’t know who Bryan Baeumler is, he is HGTV channel’s el numero uno superstar host.  Men + women alike crush on him big time!  He can build + fix anything, with charisma, wit + good humor oozing out of his pores.  AND HE’S CANADIAN.Bryan + Sarah Baeumler

Oy vey!  We got to the stage 15 minutes before they went on.  It was wall to wall people!!!!  There was only standing room left!  We pushed our way to the right of the stage + managed to find a spot where I could sit my preggo bum on the back of a sofa in their lounge area.  Here’s our view of Bryan + Sarah:Hair:HomeGarden - 08

There were a bunch of empty VIP seats in front row, so I helped myself + took some pictures.Hair:HomeGarden - 09

The subject of the discussion was to help couples survive the trials of going through a home renovation together.  Bryan Baeumler is even more hilarious in person!  What a card!Bryan + Sarah Baeumler

Jeff is seriously obsessed with Bryan Baeumler, so after the discussion, we waited in line for a meet + greet.  I’m not so into that, but Jeff looooooves chatting + meeting people.  They were so nice!  And normal!  Bryan was genuinely excited about our baby + told us some funny stories about new babies.  He should know – he has four children!  Here we are in a group shot.  With my eyes closed.  Classic Shelli.HairHomeGarden - 11

When we were leaving Bryan shouted out, “Good luck with the baby!  Have fun in March!!!”.  A baby blessing from Bryan Baeumler.  Good fortune.  Here’s the signed headshot he gave us.  Woot!Hair:HomeGarden - 12

As a joke, the picture is enshrined in our front hallway for now.  His manly, steady gaze is a reminder for us to keep working + organizing to get our house to where we envision it to be!!!  It’s still in progress, but we’re slowly but surely trying to achieve it!

BC Home + Garden Show is always held at BC Place Stadium.  I love this building + it’s cool, space-age air supported roof.Hair:HomeGarden - 13

I didn’t take that many pictures at the show because I was pooped.  Plus, I had just been to the show last November.  Click here to get a more in depth review of the show.  Everyone was taking pictures of this greenhouse.  So of course, I had to take one too.Hair:HomeGarden - 14

I don’t know why.  BLECH!!!  It made me want to barf.  It was like an excessive Victorian explosion of romanticism going rampant.

Here’s Jeff + Dave Lennox.  Yeah, I didn’t know who he was either.  But I sure like his style!  They manufacture furnaces.  Exciting stuff.Hair:HomeGarden - 15

On the train ride home.Hair:HomeGarden - 16

Oh man, I was so tired from hauling my pregnant weight around the show!!!  My feet were SWOLLEN, y’all!!!!

Just to assure you, here’s a picture of Jeff at home working on his computer with his hair tamed + looking more styled like it should.Hair:HomeGarden - 17

Japanese hair stylists are the best.  The end.
