Lately….

Yes, still moving + trying to fit in some fun time in between! Because moving = painful. And I need to slack off!!!
“Lately”… a truly uninspiring title for a blog post. But since one’s brain becomes fried from moving, that’s as good as it gets. Jeff is the muscle + I’ve been the packer. If the film industry goes bust in western Canada, Jeff + I should start a professional moving service. I’ve been wrapping, wrapping, wrapping breakables…
I should get me a job at Crate + Barrel, yo!!! These delicate items be swaddled like babies!!!
Here’s Jeff shaking down some deals on his mobile. That’s what they call it in Canada. In the U.S. they just plain ol’ call it a cell phone.
On moving days he likes to dress up as a 1970’s longshoreman. What’s with all those clothes? Don’t even start with me people!!! I KNOW!!!! I’M TRYING!!!
Megumi is supposed to be my helper, but she’s too busy looking at her pretty little reflection in picture frames, dreamily staring out the window, or spazzing out running around at mach speed for no apparent reason. Absolutely no help.
But it hasn’t been tooo excrutiating lately. I’ve finally joined the modern world + signed on to Netflix streaming + have been watching Hot Fuzz while packing. If you haven’t seen it yet – SEE IT!!!!! Nothing like a good Simon Pegg/Nick Frost laugh while in the depths of misery.
But I have to step away every once in a while or I’d go mad! Here’s a couple pictures from my mini escapes that I’ve taken throughout the week.
The beautiful ocean + one of the mosaics made by a local man that dot the shore in West Vancouver…
And beautiful, vibrant dahlias at Granville Island! I LOVE DAHLIAS!!!!
Oh, + I feel like I owe Vancouver an apology.
I’ve been bagging on it so much lately that I think it decided to give me a break + October has been non-stop sun! It’s been super ideal for moving without rain pelting on us. I wish I could enjoy it more + go play, but the little breaks I’ve had in the Vancouver sun have been so awesome! Vancouver, why you no be like this all the time?!
Hi, Nan, yup, moving can be a pain in da arse for sure
but luckily U mentioned a few ‘Bud’s’ will be helping U
with the move, and ‘the muscle’ Jeff, will provide all the
manly stuff, so take care and no lifting, Nan !!!!! Wow,
so happy 2 hear No Rain, outstanding !!!!! ok, thank’s
for the kool photo’s, have a great weekend, Hey 2 Jeff!!!!
Take Care, easy with the move, luv u, miss U, DAD’s
Thanks for the well wishes, Dad!!!! Love you too!
Love the Photos! and I thought I was the only one who loves my flip-flops so much that I don’t mind looking goofy by wearing socks with them as the weather cools, haha.
I’m slowly getting my stuff organized and packed because we got our PPR so it won’t be long until I too will be a Canadian resident! YAY! All the patient waiting and staying positive the whole time is coming to fruition! Ok, that probably is not a truthful assessment of how I’ve been, and yet time goes by anyway, and FINALLY!!! We are almost there!!!
But now as the reality of it sinks in, I know that I better start busting my butt, and I am taking great encouragement from seeing your great packing skills! 🙂
Wow! Congratulations!!! We still have a ways to go on immigration because we applied inland! Good luck with the packing!!! It really is a chore, isn’t it?!
Two things:
1) When I moved in here, after moving something like 12 times in the previous 10 years, I told George, “You know you’re going to have to dynamite me out of here, right?” I feel your pain, sister.
2) A woman who was recently made over on “What Not to Wear”? Named Megumi. All I could think of was you.
Hope you get some much-needed chill time!
~Terri
I have seen the program”What Not to Wear”Named Megumi. She was too fanny.
I am glad that you had many helpers the day of move. I am so blessed to hear your moving is almost done. Congratulation to you, Jeff and Megumi.
mommy,
Love you, mom!!!
Thanks!!!! My mom was telling about Megumi from the show, also! I’ve got to find that episode! I’m glad you + George have stayed put!!! I’m hoping to do the same – thanks for the sympathes!!!
Awww, the cute kitty! 🙂
And I LOVE Hot Fuzz. If you like it, you should make sure you see his most recent one, The World’s End. It wasn’t quite as good, but still definitely worth seeing!
I haven’t seen World’s End yet! You know me, always so behind with the entertainment industry!!!!
i like your husband’s style!
Hey, thanks!!! People either dig it, or they’re slightly unsure + scared of it!
