Crazy Fun

Jeff + I have hectic lives filled with worldly possessions. It’s too zany – you’ve got to see it to believe it.
One day when Jeff + I were off to do our usual errands or running around in Canmore, our friend Kyle said, “You guys have the weirdest schedule ever.”. You got that right, kimosabe! That’s because our lives revolve around all of Jeff’s things that he’s collected for 20 plus years. It’s a drag, but somebody’s got to get rid of it! And that person is yours truly!!!!! Crack the whip!
But we can’t start cleansing the hoard without celebrating Lil’ Juna’s fifth birthday!
There was pool time fun + pizza – soggy kids + cheese! All of Juna’s little friends were squealing with happiness – wet hair + all! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JUNA! Blow out your candles!
When I was choosing Juna’s bday gift, as I was perusing the store shelves I thought to myself, “What would have blown my mind when I was a five year old girl?”. TA-DAAAA!!!!!
I give you, My Little Pony Princess Cadence, people! I literally would have lost my marbles over this as a little girl. My Little Ponies sure have gotten really bling-y since I was little! Juna + I bond over My Little Ponies, + she LOVED Princess Cadence!
During group photo time, it took the parents a good 10 minutes to wrangle all the wriggly wee ones in one spot. Juna was in the middle, fawning over Princess Cadence unaware of the chaos surrounding her. The calm at the center of the storm. A girl + her pony.
A hit!!! Here we have the kids seriously discussing the different merits of Princess Cadence’s splendor.
After the party was over + all the kids whooshed away with their goody bags, we returned to Karen + Kyle’s house. Jeff played Candyland, Snakes + Ladders, + this cute cupcake game with the birthday girl.
The next day, we took a SERIOUS look at the shipping container.
A Saudi Arabian camel sash. Don’t you have one???
Okay, this is what happens with hoarders…amidst boxes + boxes + boxes of a lot of insignificant stuff (or piles + piles + piles – depending on what kind of hoarder you are) lies buried treasure…
GASP!!!!! Is it what I think it is?!?!
Squash blossom necklace!!!!!!!!!!! My dream!!!! My heart was palpitating – I nearly fainted, y’all!!!! Jeff said it was my present for putting up with all of his stuff. Huzzah!!!! Go me!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!
Of course, Jeff wanted to put it on. Here he is in all his mountain man glory.
AAAAACK!!! Ronald Reagan, you scares me!!!
It was WAY past lunch time, we were starved + cranky as we hauled goodies into our cars, cleaned up + shut ‘er down! A well deserved beer! Do you like Jeff’s heavy metal ring he found?!
Can’t beat the Canmore mountain views! So gorge!!!
As has become routine, we unloaded our cars once we returned to Black Diamond after the long hour + 1/2 drive.
I know, it’s making you twitch right now, isn’t it?! Although I’m not a permanent resident in Canada yet + can’t work, it doesn’t matter because I’m always busy! Organizing + categorizing to one day GET RID OF EVERYTHING!!!! Let me tell you friends, it’s a total chore. But it’s so much more tolerable toiling away at it with a husband/buddy like Jeff because we try to have fun with it! We’ve got to or else we’d go bonkers + throttle each other! Hope everyone’s week has been off to a good start!
what size is / how much for the Toronto Jays jacket? That looks like it could be a good anniversary jacket for Mr. Benjamin!
Hey lady! I just looked at the jacket + it looks too big – there’s no size but it looks like it would be a men’s 42. I’ll keep my eye out to see if we have other baseball memorabilia!!! Miss you!
Good luck sorting through that lot! I hope you sell it ALL! 🙂
One day…..we shall!!!!! Thanks for your vote of confidence!!!!!!!
If you need to unload your irrelevant camel sash you can unload it my way!!!
Sorry Daph, the camel sash is definitely not irrelevant!!! That is one of the treasures that was tucked in amidst the hoard! It’s a beauty + it’s going in our house!
I want to know more about that statue of the Franciscan monk… 😉 Good luck! And what a groovy necklace.
It’s St. Fiacre..the patron saint of gardening! I’ve been trying to sell that sucker for years! It came from the set of Shanghai Noon, when Jeff worked on the movie years ago!
Thank goodness for humor, love and necklaces!! Miss you guys tons. xo
True, true, true!!! Thanks for all of your support, sympathy + lending an ear to all of my venting, Deb!!!! Miss you guys too!!!!
Ok, love how Jeff ALWAYS poses. I have to say that I literally LOL when I saw your house…oh and the rolling rack by the car.
It’s true!!! 85% of the time when I aim a camera lens at Jeff, he goes straight for the poses!!!! Haha!!! OMG, you should see my mom….I guess I veer towards the theatrical!
Well it sounds like you’re always entertained!
