Hanging Up Pictures

Together Jeff + I have too many framed pictures, but we’ve had fun putting them up + I love an adorned wall!!!!
Our little rental house is constantly evolving from when we first walked into the door last September. It was a complete visual wreck, so it’s been a hoot + a holler putting our personal touches into our first home together.
Some of my most prized pictures were given to me from my dad who was a total hepcat art student in the 60s + he has a really amazing eye.
Jeff put on a cowboy hat, blazer + a bolo tie to hang up the pictures. That’s totally normal, right???
In the hallway Jeff hung the gorgeous portraits we picked up in Montana on our road trip from my home in Los Angeles to Calgary. They were taken by photographer Robert Osborn from his “Cowboy Series”.
I made Jeff pose with a glass of wine as if he were at an art gallery opening. Haha. And yes, my husband loves to wear two different plaids together because he doesn’t care what people think about him. I love that about Jeff.
I call it “Plaid on Plaid”.
Here’s Jeff at Robert Osborn’s gallery in Montana.
We stumbled upon Robert’s gallery as we were strolling around Livingston. It was totally meant to be, as we spent hours at the gallery as Robert chatted with us about our lives, his photography + his process. He is such an amazing artist that truly loves his subjects + their stories. I felt energized just from being around him! It’s inspiring to be around someone who is passionate about what they do. Read more about Robert here.
Well, here are some of the prints up where they belong! The living room has been updated since this picture was taken – more to come!
But still, a far cry from this!!! Egads!!! Christ almighty!!!!
Jeff’s Haida prints look very Pacific Northwest in the reading corner!
Jeff + I love interior design + creating a warm, cozy enclave that we are thoroughly enjoying as it (slowly) comes along. Thanks dad for keeping your groovy prints!!! They are the piece de la resistance!!!!
Thank goodness you weren’t able to finagle all of Dad’s prints 😏 Nevertheless they look great in yours and Jeff’s cozy cottage!👍 Love and miss you!💚💜💛💙
I WISH!!!! Love you + miss you too!!!!!
Nice! I inherited my childhood home five years ago and was so distraught over my mom passing, that I took down all of her pictures, but never put up my own. Last year, I met my boyfriend and he took charge of redoing my home, including finally putting up pictures. Pictures make such a huge difference! It now feels like a real home.
That’s great!!! It’s like putting your personality + love into a space that’s all your own!!!
