2013, Right On!!!!!

Happy New Year, y’all!!!! Here’s a brief recap of 2012 + an amazing start to 2013 with a traditional Japanese meal!!!
This morning I made Ozoni soup for the first time with the fresh mochi I bought at the Nikkei Place Mochitsuki Day! I would have loved to have learned to make it with my mom but unfortunately my family is in Los Angeles + Jeff + I are in Vancouver. Sniff, sniff.
It was pretty yummy for the first try! It will be my new tradition from this year forward! I shall strive to perfect it as each year rolls by!
I like to start the new year with ozoni as it reminds me of my family + it can’t hurt to wish that eating this auspicious meal will bring health, family, fertility, wealth, long life, luck + riches!!!!!!! HAI!!!!!!
