House in Limbo

Hello, house.  It’s been awhile.  I sure missed ya.

When I was in Los Angeles, I loved every sunny minute of it.  But I had an itch.  That itch was called, “A Crazy, Patched-Up, Lovable Home in Vancouver”.  That’s a long winded itch.  There’s so much to be done at the house, so many fun projects await!  I was anxious to get back up north to get started!

Jeff picked me up from the airport + when I walked through the door, I was greeted by a mini succulent nursery in my living room!!!

I stammered, “WHUZZAH???!!!  WHA??!!  WHO??!!!  What, what, what’s with all the cactus????!!!!”.

Dear readers, I don’t think this was the reaction poor Jeff was hoping for.

I think he was hoping more for giddy happiness.  He knows I love succulents + wanted to bring Southern California into our house for me.  Awwww.  I love them.  All 25 of them!!!!!!

AND, we have a new couch!!!!

$90 on Craigslist, yo!!!  It is sparkly + comfy + at that price, we won’t be too precious about it!  And guess what?  If we bought it new at Ikea, it would’ve been $499!!!  We saved ourselves $409 bones, homies!!!

I’ve been cleaning like a scullery maid, organizing + trying to make sense of what we are up against with this house.  There’s not much storage space + we can’t install shelving until we start painting – so boxes + things are sort of clumped together in the center of each room.  We have GOT to start painting, y’all!!!  If you don’t know about the frightening paint job currently in the house, here’s a revolting reminder.  Brace yourselves!!!

YARGH!!!!!  GAAAAH!!!!!  It’s like pouring acid onto the landscape of my brain!!!!  So, there’s no point in making the house all nice + pretty until painting is completed.  Which I hope to start on next week.  It’s like being stuck in a decorating limbo of sorts.  No me gusta.

What’s a gal to do?  I cheered myself up today by buying these here lurvely tulips at the convenient store/florist that is a close walk from my abode.

In addition to the tulips I also picked up these cutsie wootsie widdle pumpkins for our front stoop.

It started raining this afternoon + it is cold as the dickens in Vancouver at night!  An insane contrast from the 103 degree heat I was experiencing in Los Angeles!  Fall is nigh, my friends…

The Official Autumnal Kitten!!!!!  Well, in my book at least.

Jeff is so sweet to decorate with many pretty succulents for you. They are so cute and for sure remind you of So. California where sunny, dry , hot and very little rain all year around.
