I Hate Pilot Season/More Complaining

Sorry for the absence in posts.  I’ve been feeling too downtrodden + lackluster as of late.  Ohhhhhh, poooooor meeee.  I’m going to call myself a waaambulance.

It’s pilot season.  Bleeeeeech!!!!  Pilot season!!!  Ewwwww!!!  Dreaded pilot season.  Can you tell I HATE pilot season???  When you read the word HATE, try + feel the venom spewing out of my being.  If you don’t know what that means, a pilot is a single episode of a sort of “test” show, that if picked up by a studio, eventually becomes a full-on television series.  I’m on my third pilot of my career.  Everytime I do one, I always say it’ll be my last one.  You want to know why?!  Because they suck!!!!  Everything happens really really really fast, it’s demanding, the production doesn’t know what they’re doing + act like gross chickens with their head cut off, hours are brutal + pay is low.  Tonight I’m going to work at 4pm + probably won’t come home till 7am Saturday morning.

Why am I doing this?  I’m only participating in this torture because the entire costume department are my buddies.  Peer pressure?  I’m famously known as huge sucker for peer pressure.  I can’t say no. Well, at least we’re all tortured together.  Friends that are tortured together, stay together, as I always say.  It’s set in the late 70’s – here’s a couple pictures I took from the set dressing.

I call this one:  “Still Life – 1977”

I call this one: “I bet Jeff has all of these items in his Shipping Container in Exshaw”

I bet all of you are like, “Where are all the pictures of the costumes?”.  Good question.  I think because I’m so sick of looking at clothes + shoes that it makes me want to vomit.  Our department is literally bursting with all the clothes.  I’ll try + get it together.

Here are some pictures Jeff sent me today on his pilot up in Vancouver.  Yes, Jeff is on a pilot too.  Separate lives, yet still the same….sigh.

Haha!  Look at his crazy mad scientist hair!  He’s so cute!  Why the thumbs up?  Behind him in the costume department is shelving that he drafted up, + the construction department built.

Impressive, Jeff!!!!  He’s so handy!  I’m so proud of him!

Well, after this cursed job is over, I’ll be rejoining him in Canada on the first weekend of April!  I can’t wait!!!!  It’s the only thing that keeps me going!!!  Whoopeeee!!!!  Hope everyone’s well!!!

  4. Ha ha ha Your “Still Life” is aptly named. As a child of the 70’s all of those little treasures bring back memories…..heated hair curlers. Love it. I didn’t realize that Jeff already had his container. Lucky you. 😉
