Shine On Award

Wow!  Thank you to tkmorkin from Bite Size Canada for nominating me for the Shine On Award!

The Shine On Award is about brotherly/sisterly lurve.  I don’t think it’s really an “award” but it’s an appreciation for other bloggers who make you feel all warm + fuzzy inside.  I’m not really sure about all the rules + regulations about this award.  But I do know that:

1) link back to the kind person that nominated you

2) post a picture of the Shine On Award (which hilariously enough is a cutesy Japanese manga cartoon)

3) nominate 15 blogs that make your day.

So here goes!!!  Dum-da-da-dum-da-da-dum!!!!!!  That’s a drum roll, as it were!!!!

In no specific order:

1) Bite Size Canada – Canadian trivia and history in bite size chunks!  I’ve learned so much about my new country from the website!

2) What I’ve Found – My buddy Michelle who I’ve met through this blog.  She writes!  She hikes!  She loves sci-fi!

3) Beyond Paisley – Hilarious everyday observations, retro cooking + love for things that are so bad, they’re good!

4) Waterfalls and Caribous – The most entertaining Kiwi couple traveling the world, eating amazing food + making me laugh all the way!

5) Airplanes and Treadmills – A US expat like me!  Great running + fitness tips!

6) Caitlin Clarkson Illustration – Beautiful, dreamy, whimsical illustrations!

7) Canadian Hiking Photography – Seriously breath taking nature photos mostly taken in the Canadian Rockies.  Check it out!

8) Northier Than Thou – From the far reaches of Alaska – observations on politics, Native American issues, religion – you name it!

9) California Pixie – The Queen of Kitsch!!!  Amazing retro collection, tutorials on upcycling your thrift bargains + some surf culture thrown in!

10) Mike Schultz Paintings – Super crazy talented artist based in Portland, OR

11) Dawntless –  My old pal Dawn who I met in the trenches of the film industry – she is sassy!

12) The Blonde Coyote –  Freelance science and travel writer who hikes all over the world + has her own teardrop trailer.  Love it.

13) From Poutine to Arepas – a Canadian expat in Venezuela!!!  Sunshine, avocados + mangoes!  Yes!!!

14) Anna’s Appetite – Restaurant reviews mostly in Calgary + Vancouver – covers a ton of places I’ve always been curious about!

15) Project Palermo – Amazing DIY projects, handy with power tools + a great aesthetic.  Need I say more?

It’s all about spreading the love!  Check all these fab blogs out!

SHINE ON EVERYONE!!!!!

  7. Super awesome Shelli – and thanks for the nomination! I think after being here for 2 months, I’m safe to describe my blog as the Seinfeld of the bloggosphere…sometimes funny, sometimes not, but always about nothing in particular. PS. I never realized how big the Japanese-Canadian culture was in Vancouver..though the last time I was there I was like…4?
